Special Educational Needs (SEND)
At Eaton Valley, we aim to identify every child’s needs as they arise and provide teaching and learning that will enable all individuals to achieve their full potential.
What does Special Educational Needs Mean?
A child with special educational needs (SEN) has a learning difficulty or disability that makes it harder for them to learn. They may need extra help or work differentiated to enable them to access the curriculum. Children may need extra support in different areas. These areas may be categorised as:
- Communication and Interaction needs
- Cognition and Learning needs
- Social, Emotional and Mental health difficulties
- Sensory and/or Physical needs.
We have produced this web page to enable parents to gain a better understanding of the terms special educational needs (SEN) and what it means to our school.
